Can you believe there are only 164 days left in 2019?
Time definitely doesn’t wait for anyone, but sheesh…
I was talking to a friend the other day about what this last quarter in 2019 looks like for me. She started to tell me about how she needed to get focused and asked me how I juggled all on my plate. I recited one of my favorite quotes to her, “I cheat on my fears, break up with my doubts, engage my faith and I marry (commit) to my dreams,” daily.
After listening to some of her rationales around why she felt stagnant in life I began to ask her some questions that I want you to reflect upon too if you are feeling stagnant and unfulfilled:
What if, the path you are traveling is not meant for you (which could be a factor in your lack of ability to stay focused)?
What if it is the path…
- Your parents chose
- Your pain chose
- Your loneliness chose
- Your fear chose
- Your past chose
- Your comfort zone chose
- Your decisions chose
- Your insecurities chose
What if the path you are supposed to be on has been delayed because you refuse to give God a “Yes”
Your path is just that YOUR PATH. Isaiah 58:11 says, “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
What does it look like to walk along your path? It looks like:
- Finding the courage to “do it afraid”
- Being brave enough to step outside of your comfort zone
- Being brave enough to color outside of the lines
- Bold enough to go against the culture
- Being confident in your skillset
- No longer ALLOWING/ENABLING those on the sidelines to call the shots while you are in the game
- Trusting God and HIS plan for your life
Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Not only does God have a plan for you but, he already equipped you with everything you would need for your journey. “To one he gave (5) five talents, to another (2) two, and to another (1) one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.” Matthew 25:15. I’m a firm believer that all you need to walk in your purpose is already within you. Your life lessons, education and trainings you acquire along your journey are just the tools to sharpen your God given talents.
As we head into this last quarter of 2019, remember it’s not too late to start, it’s not too late to chase your dream, it’s not too late to take control over your life and it’s definitely not too late to be unapologetic about believing you can be whoever you want to be and have whatever it is you desire according to the plan He has for you. Trust when I tell you that Gods plan for you is much more amazing that what you could ever dream or imagine.
