Faith > Fear

As I head back to the States, reflecting on this particular excursion while in 🇬🇭 I’m reminded that Faith >Fear, will always lead you towards experiencing the life you want for yourself. I don’t think I’ve ever prayed so hard as much as I did walking across the 9 bridges. (I promise you, God was probably like, Girl, if you don’t walk across this bridge, lol) Once we got to the peak, where we literally were walking over trees, I heard so clearly, “You can have anything you want, as long as you’re willing to pay the price and my price was sacrifice. The sacrifice of sleep, relationships, sorority events and more. However, the return on investment (ROI) was well worth the sacrifice. I met over 28 black women, 90% of us under the age of 40 and slaying in our respective industries whether it was law, HR, military, nonprofit management, entrepreneurship, or education; grouped with 10% older women who had already walked in our shoes and were there to encourage, enlighten and push us along the way. The faith of these women had them travel to the Motherland and visit the beautiful country of 🇬🇭where we experienced a spiritual awakening, formed sisterly bonds and dwelled in what is one of the most powerful experiences of Black Girl Magic. In solidarity we were able to celebrate the growth and accomplishments of our sister (Ashley) @jelaniwomentravel and the contributions that our involvement enables for @jelanigirls The entire experience was magical. The first President of Ghana and brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. grounded his leadership around the mission, “Forward Ever, Backward Never.” So I encourage everyone who may read this to sit and reflect on what it is that you need to lead with faith and conqueror. Remember, you can have anything you want; you just have to be willing to sacrifice. #AmbitiousGirl #jelaniwomentravel #Selah #yearofreturn2019🇬🇭#ihavereturned 💙#aliciajoynes.com
